The special issue on methodological inventions and ‘obstructions’ that Rane Willerslev, Lotte Meinert and George Marcus are editing for publication in Ethnos has today, finally, seen the green light.

We have written a piece on our long-term collaborative project with “free culture activists” in Madrid, which reports on our work with Lagaleriademagdalena, Zuloark, Basurama, Alfonso Sánchez Uzábal, and Domenico di Siena, among many others. In a nutshell, the piece describes how our work with open-source urban activists re-functioned our own ethnographic project into an open-source methodological prototype of sorts.
